At the Kendal Museum, volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. From welcoming visitors to supporting educational programs, our volunteers help bring art to life for everyone who walks through our doors.

Whether you’re a student seeking experience, a retiree looking to stay active, or someone who simply loves museums, there’s a place for you here. Our volunteer roles range from guiding guests through exhibitions to assisting with events and helping behind the scenes with our collections team.

Volunteers receive training and support from museum staff, along with perks like free admission, discounts in the museum store, and invitations to special volunteer-only events. Most importantly, you’ll become part of a passionate, welcoming community dedicated to making art accessible to all.

We ask that volunteers be at least 18 years old, attend a brief orientation, and commit to a minimum of four hours per month.
