Ex Natura (meaning ‘according to nature’) is an exhibition of work inspired by the exhibits, documentation and specimens in the Natural History Collection at Kendal Museum.

The paintings, sculptures and drawings combine the visual interest of the specimens in the collection with information and research on the species and the environmental concerns that they face.

Nicole’s work combines her artistic interest in nature with that of natural science and history. She loves to learn and collect information and takes inspiration from the imagery evoked when reading about topics such as mycelial networks, wild animal behaviour or specific ecosystems.

Her multidisciplinary practice allows her to use whichever medium she feels will best capture and convey an idea.
