Welcome to our museum, established in 1796! As one of the UK’s oldest, we offer a mix of exhibits including local archaeology, history, geology, and global natural history. Highlights include the World Wildlife Gallery, focused on conservation, and the Kendal and Westmorland Gallery with local treasures and a special Alfred Wainwright display. The People’s Gallery showcases contemporary art with local themes.

We also have a gift shop, café, and a play area for kids! There's something for everyone to enjoy.
